Managing Stress | Self Improvement | Part 2 – Step 6 — Developing Positive Thinking

So we are talking about how to develop positive thinking? Believe me it isn’t 3 minute job and could not be done instantly. It would require high efforts from your side to change your self and developing positive thinking from negative attitude. It requires three major changes

  1. Change in your daily vocabulary ( Yes you read right)
  2. Change your thinking pattern from negative to positive (It is tough part because our mind and body always resist change so it requires your most effort)
  3. Don’t pass your time with negative attitude people and develop good company with positive attitude people

Bad news is first both things are hard and good news is both can be done by efforts. Believe me only initially it looks hard but gradually it will become easier (Rule of Gravity also apply here). So first you must change your vocabulary from negative to positive for developing positive thinking. Tendency of negative attitude people is, they use words and sentence like “No”, “I Can’t”, “It’s impossible”, “Sorry boss”, “Are you mad how can it possible” ,” I can’t do it”, “ It isn’t worth to try” ,”this is hopeless case” , “This is too big for me” ,” I don’t like this idea”, “This is waste of time” frequently

Change your vocabulary as following (This is just examples)

Mr. No

Mr. yes

It’s impossible

It is tough but possible

Sorry boss

Yes Boss

Are you mad how can it possible

It’s looking tough but let’s ponder ways to make it possible

I can’t do it

This is challenging and I can do it by efforts

It isn’t worth to try

This is tough case but let’s open to new ideas

this is hopeless case

This is tough situation but we will overcome it

This is too big for me

This is great for me. I will take this as a challenge

Believe me, give it try and just change your vocabulary and your will find new confidence and energy stimulating you. Now let’s come to second step about changing thinking pattern. This may take some time to develop positive thinking but with use of positive vocabulary it can be change fast. As your vocabulary change, slowly but surely your thinking patterns change.

Lets take example of “ I can’t do it” when you speak this negative sentence you draw invisible boundary of negative thoughts around you and close doors to new idea but when your speak “This is challenging and I can do it by efforts” you draw invisible boundary of positive thinking around you and open to new ideas and thoughts. You command your mind (off course unconsciously) to find out new ideas to and explore new ways to overcome tough situations and your mind start evaluating new ideas and you find solution from it.

Train your mind and cut every negative thought from root before it develops in tree. Always keep in mind that every situation have some solution (even half solution), you just have to find it with cool mind. Once you give your mind free hand it will start functioning as powerhouse of new ideas. Kick out fear of failure and give your possible best to your task. Believe me failure is better then sit back and do nothing. Train your mind and make habit of do everything by plan.

Third change you should make is stay away from negative company and mix with positive company. It looks difficult to digest that your mixing with some kind of people can affect your pattern of thinking but it does. Give it try and you experience it.
