Managing Stress | Self Improvement | Step 4 — Draw your line bigger
One of biggest source of stress in modern word is highly competitive environment at work place. High demand from job and high competition with colleagues or other companies may make you victim of stress if you failed to properly manage stress. Unhealthy competition in any area may become biggest obstacle in your quest of self improvement.
First you should know that what is the meaning of self improvement is. Simply speaking self improvement means improve your self and take your thinking to higher level. Think higher and about your self and your self improvement instead of west of your time by thinking about others. Let’s take example to understand it. Your colleague doing fine with job and giving extremely good results to company. So what layman will do is put obstacles in line of colleague and tries to stop his progress by hook and crook, be extremely jealous of progress of colleague and jealousy eat himself.
But here comes difference. What you would do if you believe in improve your thinking to higher standard. You would applaud progress of colleague (Very tough), analysis his way of working, consume what you think better your colleague is doing and improve your way of working. Instead of putting obstacles in other’s progress, you would learn some good from it and work hard to give more good results to your company and off course to yourself

- You would work hard to achieve what you want instead of focus and west your energy by thinking what others doing
- Your relations with colleagues would be harmonious
- Instead of being crying baby your efforts would use to constructive way.
- You would be know as team member and get help from colleagues when required
- Best thing you achieve is win win situation for you, your colleagues and your company
So moral of story is instead of cutting other’s line you should draw your line bigger. I know it is easier to say then done because you have to change your attitude and way of thinking but believe me without it you can’t help your self in quest of self improvement and managing stress. This is not one of way but only way to stay away from jealousy which is ready to eating you and expose you to more stress.
