Teenagers face generally stress because of high expectations from parent and teacher to do well in exams, competition with classmates or siblings or alcoholic or abusive parents.

Teen Stress generally includes following stressors

  • Children of divorcee parents have more chance to expose to stress
  • High expectation to do well in exams leads teen to stress
  • If inferiority complex have developed in teen then teen have high chance to expose to stress
  • Constant fighting between parents in front of teen lead teen to stress
  • Death of loved one may lead teen to stress
  • Parents presser to choose particular education stream against wish may expose to stress

 

Stress management for teen

  • Parents should never fight in front of child
  • Parents should not pressurize teen to choose particular education stream against teen’s wish
  • Give him love and affection and lower exactions
  • Always encourage if teen fails   
  • Take teen to psychologist and if required start medication and psychotherapy
